The Intern- Co-op role will be an integral member of the Ultragenyx Finance team.  This individual will be involved in the procurement activities for all the Ultragenyx departments of the Gene Therapy Manufacturing Facility in Bedford. The scope of procurement is mainly raw materials, single use systems and packaging.

A successful candidate must have strong analytical capabilities, be a self-starter, have experience within the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and be curious about the technology, the science of gene therapy.  The candidate will be a creative problem solver who is passionate about delivering outstanding service. This position reports to the Procurement Director.

Work Model: 

Core Lab & Ops: This role typically requires that the majority of the work be conducted on-site.

Responsibilities: The co-op/ intern will be in charge of data collection and analysis (via Oracle, Power BI,…) for the site and the department Work on the opportunities and case studies of Artificial Intelligence for the Global Procurement department. Build a database Raw materials and Single Use gathering prices and technical information Work on a market analysis for single use technologies and build a supplier presentation for our Top 5 Work on the double sourcing program for the site Will assist the buyer on the Bedford site Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business/supply chain / procurement required Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry preferred Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are a must Ability to build strong relationships with internal management and business unit leaders Direct but civil temperament and presence that inspires confidence in others Excellent communication and organizational skills Intermediate Excel Skills – Pivot tables, VLookup, Etc Work model: Hybrid: Minimum of 4 days per week in the office in Bedford This co-op is full-time (40 hours per week), from early July of 2025 until the end of December 2025.
