Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Electrical Engineering Co-op.
The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 - $25.00 per hour.

Position Overview:
The Electrical Engineering co-op will contribute to the electrical design of circuit protection products from project initiation thru manufacturing launch, plus ongoing developments.
Tasks includes design, testing and certification of components required in residential circuit protection. The co-op will learn about electro-mechanical systems as well as product qualification for performance, reliability, DFMA, and cost optimization of the final product. This position will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Program Manager, other Mechanical Engineers and System Architects, Electrical Engineers, Product Line Marketing Manager, and Operations team members, Sourcing and Manufacturing personnel to develop the products in an organized and expedient fashion per our Pro-Launch process.
As the Electrical Engineering co-op, you will be responsible for tasks associated with developing and designing new products that will penetrate the national and international markets. This role will also require you to project manage some of these projects to completion using a phase gate project management platform, working cross-functionally with other business areas including Marketing, Sales, and Operations. It will require you to have strong communication skills, ambition, drive, strong engineering experience, with enthusiasm in the product design arena.
What you’ll do:
• Contribute to firmware and electrical developments for embedded systems/micro-controllers
• Support embedded FW development using code repositories, code reviews, build servers, and agile methods.
• Support the enhancement of existing products and services based on evaluations of existing and new technologies per Eaton’s strategic plans
• Develop and review PCBA layouts
• Design and test electric circuits associated with circuit protection
• Support and perform technical evaluations of third party solutions and assess opportunities to develop partnerships or and new suppliers
• Participate in project management and engaging with multi-disciplined teams to achieve goals using ProLaunch and other project management tools
• Participate in Voice of the Customer (VOC) product and market requirements research
• Provide assistance with 3rd party certifications such as UL, CSA, ISTA, and other regulatory agencies
• Ensure timely completion to project commitment dates
• Complete end of rotation presentation to management
