Job Description

Mechanical Engineer Co Op

Location: 

Reports to:  Technical Manager

Role Overview:  Amcor Flexibles is seeking a full-time spring co-op that will commence in January 2022. Under the supervision of the Technical Manager, an engineering co-op performs basic engineer responsibilities such as waste and setup reduction projects or contribute to machine upgrade and process monitoring projects. This may also include basic clerical duties such as performing research or analyzing production data.

Timeframe: Spring 2022

Participate as a multidisciplinary engineering team memberAssist engineers and engineering technicians with the design, development, integration, and testingAssist with the documentation of software and engineering dataInterface with other internal organizations such as manufacturing, marketing, service, product support and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.Assist team in identifying process improvementsMaintain ISO/Six Sigma control documentation and assist in mapping of new business processesLearn all processes, procedures and assist in network analysis and designCreate flow charts and spreadsheets in support of staff projectsProvide engineering support assistance for quality issues as requiredPreparation and modification of engineering drawings using both manual and computer-aided systemsCreate designs and drawings of machine components using Solid worksSupport of component and full-scale test activities

What we want from you:

Actively enrolled in a Bachelors Program in a technical field of study such as EngineeringExcellent written and verbal communication skills Must be detail oriented and possess excellent follow up skillsWorking knowledge of computer application software (training will be provided if needed)Must be flexible and able to work overtime when requiredMust be organized and work well with constant priority changesMust be able to work independently with minimal supervisionFamiliarity with the safe operation of basic hand tools and lab equipmentAttention to detailProficiency in modern desktop office software applications
