Welcome to Landis+Gyr!  We're at the forefront of the energy industry revolution - let's build a brighter energy future together!

The Landis+Gyr Co-op program is designed to enhance the quality and scope of learning by providing students with the option of integrating academic study with related, work-based learning.  Positions begin January 2025 and applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program and be able to commit to an alternating rotating 3-semester schedule so expected graduation date should be 2026 or later. These are paid positions working on site at our Lafayette, Indiana office approximately 40 hours per week Monday through Friday.  We don’t offer a housing stipend or housing assistance so candidates local to our Lafayette, Indiana location are preferred.

Landis+Gyr Metering firmware quality department is looking to better evaluate products at a system level through increasing test system automation. Co-ops will work on a team of other co-ops and/or interns to develop new test systems for energy meters. They will learn about the energy grid and how metering is a critical component to its future of stability and sustainability.

Students will work directly with firmware test personnel completing tasks required to deliver test results for various metering development projects.  These tasks include, but are not limited to, executing firmware testing activities, managing firmware test environments, and developing new hardware/firmware testing tools.  The student will learn current testing methodologies for qualifying meters for commercial use. Throughout co-op rotations, students will work as a member of a team to implement corrective actions on existing test systems, as well as make proposals for improvements. Improvement proposals can include changes to existing test system implementations and/or new test methodologies to increase automated testing.

Co-ops will learn test systems & methodologies, measurement system accuracies, error source investigations, and may experience working with vendors to resolve issues depending on findings. Students will also learn analog design and analysis for product design implementation.

Students will generate a summary report documenting analyses and proposed corrective actions. Throughout rotations, the co-op will work with internal stakeholders to implement proposals. Each semester, the co-op will be asked to summarize their findings, experiences / lessons learned, and proposals for next steps into a presentation that will be given to the cross-functional leadership in the Lafayette facility.
