The Mammalian BioAnalytics Characterization group, part of the Global CMC Development organization located in Framingham, Massachusetts, is seeking a Co-op to join the team. The candidate will work on developing automated methods for mass spectrometry-based proteomics analysis to identify and quantify host cell proteins (HCPs) generated during the production of biotherapeutics.

Main Responsibilities:

Work with supervisor to plan, design, and execute experiments, analyze data, and interpret experimental results.

Evaluate new technologies and develop automated platforms to streamline and improve the efficiency of HCP analysis.

Collaborate with group members and automation team on method development and implementation.

Operate and maintain mass spectrometry instruments.

Document results in electronic lab notebook, author technical reports, and present findings at internal meetings.

About you

Basic Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an MS or Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biochemistry or biological science.

Must be able to relocate to our Framingham office location and work 40hrs/week for the full duration of the Co-op. 

Must have permanent US work authorization. 

Good understanding of protein mass spectrometry.

Hands-on experience with protein and peptide sample preparation techniques.

Hands-on experience with liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry instrumentation.

Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.

Strong problem-solving, communication and inter-personal skills.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in scientific programming and scripting.

Experience with analytical separation methods, high throughput automation platforms, and proteomics data analysis software
