A Taste of What You’ll Do
+ Assist in lab blends, fining trials, monitoring wine health, and sampling.
+ Execute daily analysis (including yeast and bacteria, Brix, Alcohol, pH, TA, Free & Total SO2, RS, ML, VA, NH3 and NOPA) on grapes, juice and wine in our analytical laboratory.
+ Sample tanks and barrels to aid in monitoring fermentations.
+ Lead a hands-on project focused on a unique aspect of winemaking and quality, driving impactful improvements and enhancing our winery's operations.
What You’ll Need
+ Currently enrolled at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in the following areas OR have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in: College of Agriculture, College of Sciences, or College of Engineering (majors in Biomedical, Biological, Environmental, Industrial or Chemical Engineering only; Business or social sciences degrees are not eligible for this internship, such as ag business, psychology, etc).
+ Required to lift and move up to 45 lbs.
+ Required to be 21 years of age or older.
+ Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.
+ Required to drive to and from varying winery locations as needed
+ Required to climb fixed stairs with handrails and vertical ladders with hoop cages to a height of 40 feet.
+ Requires availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when necessary.
+ Required to have reliable transportation to and from work.
+ Experience computing mathematical formulas and basic computer skills.
+ Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
+ Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
How You’ll Stand Out
+ Junior or Senior class standing at a college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Fermentation Science, Plant Science, Enology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Bioscience, Biology, Viticulture, Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Winemaking or Chemistry.
+ Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.
+ Classroom experience with standard wine analytical techniques.
+ Areas of knowledge would include general lab experience with pH meters, titrations, and lab-ware.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office and database systems (LIMS).

Compensation
+ Hiring Salary Range Posted: $22.50 - $26.00 / hour
