Job Description and Responsibilities:

Coherent Laser Systems and Measurement (LSM) designs and manufactures precision solid state lasers for scientific, medical, instrumentation and vision markets, as well as calibrated laser measurement systems for a wide variety of laser type and power applications. The business provides critical technology to thousands of global customers with a wide range of products specifically tailored to satisfy demanding customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

Works under direct supervision to perform standard handling, cleaning, loading & unloading tooling fixtures and loading of optical substrates into vacuum coating chambers for thin film coatings.  Capable of inspecting and cleaning substrates before and after coating runs.  Able to identify non-conformances in the material and properly select associated tooling per the part number and job number.  Assist engineering and senior techs on routine equipment maintenance.  Also included are the following tasks:

Ability to lift up to 45 pounds. Required to work with tweezers & small hand tools. Must be neat & organized. Capable of reading, understanding and following procedures and work instructions. Abide by all company safety requirements. Ability to work with chemical and cleaning agents. Ability to use basic hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, etc). Ability to learn other coating processes such as spraying paint. Comfortable with using software applications in Window environment.#LI-MG1

Education and Work Experience:

At least 1 year of manufacturing experience required or a technical degree. Experience in thin-film coating and/or painting would be preferred.

Training/Skill Requirements:

Basic reading, writing and math skills.  Must be able to work under a microscope with good hand/eye coordination and dexterity.  Must have basic computer knowledge and be capable of entering data into the company computer software program. Basic understanding of electronics and chemistry would be preferred.

Standing and/or sitting workstation Lifting 5-10 pounds regularly

 Safety Requirements

PPE including ESD smock, ESD foot-grounding straps, and safety glasses
