Cobol Developer -
Exciting opportunity on an IS&GS Civil Program that is responsible for providing a full range of IT integration services and supporting a multi-platform computing environment, including: information systems modernization initiatives, software engineering, project management, infrastructure services, data warehousing, database administration, research, planning, security, federal enterprise architecture initiatives, research and all levels of Internet, Intranet and Web portal initiatives and migrating legacy architecture to web-based platforms.
The successful candidate will provide support in requirements/design/coding/testing/validation efforts for the Social Security Administration (SSA) within the ODPMI component. The candidate will be performing these activities and maintaining applications under the direction of the Technical Lead and Project Manager.
Skills Requirements:
Required: Eleven years software development in a IBM mainframe environment:
Strong COBOL programming skills.
-Experience with COBOL source code generation.
-Proficient DB2 skills.
-Strong JCL and FOCUS skills.
-Some experience with CyberFusion/Connect:Direct file transfer.
Desired:
Proficient in Endevor and Control M.
Proficient analytical and problem solving skills in COBOL.
Ability to quickly grasp and understand complicated mainframe systems.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to make independent decisions.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
-Ability to lead a team and provide direction.
-Experience in MicroStrategy or WebFocus.
-Experience with Agile Methodology is helpful.
