The Opportunity:
We are searching for a talented Cobol developer to become part of CACI’s HUDCAPS team. The position requires experience developing and maintaining applications written using COBOL with Db2 experience, as well as JCL for IBM mainframe operating systems. The position will provide support services to a customer legacy environment and its modernization efforts. This position is remote.
HUDCAPS is a large COBOL application that stores data in Db2 databases and VSAM files. It also has a graphical user interface (GUI) written in C/C# for Windows that interacts with HUDCAPS using TCP/IP and CICS.
As a part of our team, you'll work on the HUDCAPS application, a critical financial management system used to manage HUD’s general ledger, budgeting, accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable, obligations, disbursements, and reporting requirements. HUDCAPS plays a key role in delivering billions of dollars each month to Public Housing Authorities working to provide safe, affordable housing for individuals and families in need.
Responsibilities:
Analysis, developing new programs, maintaining existing programs, testing, and migration of code including, but not limited to COBOL, JCL, etc., in a mainframe environment utilizing the Endevor and/or Serena Dimensions CM tool.
Providing all manner of technical support for the application, client, and team.
Documenting technical solutions
Supporting testing activities
Resolving problems reported in source code
Providing estimates and timelines for completion of assigned tasks
Preparing status reports and project status updates
Supporting the nightly batch cycles, on-call rotation, daily status
This position is 100% remote
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelors' degree with 8+ years of experience, or a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 12 years of experience.
Must pass NACI security clearance.
Demonstrated experience with COBOL programming, DB2, TSO, ISPF, JCL, QMF/SQL, and IBM z/OS utilities.
Minimum 4 years of experience in COBOL and JCL development on the mainframe.
Expert knowledge of Microsoft office products
A sound knowledge of information systems including specific knowledge and best practices of analysis and design, applications development, databases, processes, procedures, report writing, and development techniques.
Self-motivated, interactive, knowledge of advanced debugging tools, versatility and the ability to learn fast
Desired:
application development in REXX, SAS, or C/C#, as well as experience with CICS, CA-7 scheduler.

The proposed salary range for this position is:
