Code Technician

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented  Code Technician to join our team in NEOM. Parsons is providing Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for the development of NEOM Infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia. The site is near the Red Sea and the borders of Egypt,  and Jordan. It will cover a total area of 26,500 km2 (10,200 sq mi) and will extend 460 km along the coast of the Red Sea.

What You'll Be Doing:

Ensuring designs and engineering solutions comply with local, national, and international codes and standards.

Staying updated with the latest changes in codes and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

Compiling comprehensive reports and records that demonstrate compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Review documentation submitted by Design Consultants, Suppliers and Contractors against compliance criteria

Preparing and maintaining detailed documentation of code requirements and how they are met for all elements and components, as required.

Reviewing and approving design plans, specifications, and other documents to ensure they meet all relevant codes and standards.

Confirming compliance of documentation submitted by suppliers, consultants, and contractors.

Working closely with engineers, architects, and construction teams to integrate code requirements into design plans.

Facilitating communication between different stakeholders to ensure a unified approach to code compliance.

Identifying and resolving issues related to code compliance during the design phases.

Providing solutions and recommendations to address non-compliance issues effectively.

Providing training and support to other team members on code-related matters (such as guidance on inspection and testing).

Conducting / supporting workshops and informational sessions to educate staff on the importance of code compliance.

Performing site visits to monitor that construction practices align with approved plans and standards.

Conducting inspections and tests to verify that construction works comply with designs and meet required codes as needed. 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Diploma in a relevant subject with a minimum of 6 years experiences in a related O&M field.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of civil and related engineering disciplines.Working knowledge, or ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge of rules, regulations, policies and procedures.Demonstrated experience working independently, proactively solving problems and exhibiting a solution orientation.Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in managing file structures, organizing project documentation and maintaining required project controls.Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in performing duties.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

Proficiency with MS Office Suite of toolsExcellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and strong technical writing skills are required.
