Responsibilities TMC Bonham Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital that includes both primary care and specialty physicians. The Critical Access Hospital, offering both inpatient and outpatient services along with 24-hour emergency services. The Critical Access Hospital (CAH) Program was established to assure access to healthcare services for rural residents. The program provides rural acute care hospitals with a range of opportunities for service enhancement and quality of care improvement. Quality healthcare and patient safety is our goal. TMC Bonham is managed by Texoma Medical Center, subsidiary of UHS. Codes and abstracts inpatient and outpatient records using appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT classification system. Inpatient coder reviews charts for admission appropriateness and severity of illness. Outpatient coder codes outpatient charts, checks medical necessity and works closely with business office Qualifications Reading and numerical competency. 1 year coding experience or will consider education from an approved AHIMA Coding course or HIM college program. RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCA or eligible Skilled in ICD-10-CM/CPT with knowledge of Prospective Payment/DRG, APC system plus knowledge of computer systems. Ability to communicate effectively with other departments and medical staff. Knowledge of 3-M encoder.
