Coder III, Outpatient
Overview The Coder III, Outpatient performs the functions of coding of ED records, outpatient surgery, and observation records, and cardiac catherization/invasive cardiology records, collection of predefined indicators and abstracting medical records. Provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes, and modifiers for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinics and CPT Assistant. Codes discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate APC if applicable for reimbursement. Verifies LCDs for medical necessity.
