Overview

Hello humankindness Dignity Health Medical Group is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona. Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) employs approximately 200 providers and 500 support staff that cover a wide variety of specialties. The medical group has had tremendous success over the past few years and now provides more than 73 subspecialty services. The physicians provide clinical services in their areas of specialty and many serve in pivotal academic research and leadership roles.DHMG is also heavily involved in preparing tomorrows healthcare providers. DHMG has 84 medical school students and approximately 200 residents and fellows throughout the 25 academic programs. Clinical services are complemented with translational and bench research to augment medical education for residents and students. Responsibilities

The Coding Department Auditor conducts internal audits on Coding Department staff to ensure services are entered into the billing system and coded per published guidelines correctly. Additionally this position will complete audits on providers who are identified for possible clinical documentation improvement and provide education and feedback on areas identified through audit.

Performs audits on established Coders and Data Entry staff per audit schedule.Performs audits on newly hired Coders and Data Entry staff to ensure staff are meeting quality requirements set by Physician Coding Leadership within their probationary period with DHMG.Generates audit reports for each member of the coding team, and forwards to the appropriate Supervisor.Complete adhoc audits on staff per Physician Coding Leadership’s request.As needed, provides education about audit findings to staff.Performs audits on providers to help improve clinical documentation and correct coding of services.Performs all audits in designated auditing system.Provides education and feedback to providers to improve clinical documentation and coding practices.Completes coding audits when payer notifications/letters require review.Identify coding trends and recommend new processes to help improve coding quality of DHMG Physician Coding Department.When requested, help create coding job aids.Meet production requirements set by Physician Coding Leadership.Meets quality standards set by Physician Coding Leadership.

Qualifications
MINIMUM

High School Diploma or equivalent.

3+ years Professional fee coding experience.

Must have and maintain an in-depth knowledge of CPT ICD and HCPCS coding guidelines.

CPC or CCS-P Certification

PREFERRED

Surgicial auditing experience

Experience presenting to Providers and Coders on a one-on-one and group bases.
