The role you ’ll contribute :
The Coding Quality Education Coordinator is under general supervision of the Coding Quality Education or Outpatient Coding Manager within the Health Information Management (HIM) Coding department. This position is responsible for performing pre-bill coding reviews, quality audits, coder education, coder training, processing external coding audits and operates in accordance with the requirements of the ICD-10 coding conventions and guidelines. Actively participates in team meetings, develops, and presents educational sessions for coders. Adheres to the AdventHealth policies and procedures while ensuring the adherence to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Maintains the confidentiality of employees, patients, and administrative staff.

Responsible for performing coding reviews
Is able toidentify the impact and accuracy that data has on clinical quality, reimbursement, internal coding metrics, and key quality indicators.
Collaborates with leadership to ensure accurate reporting of mortality rates, Hospital Acquired Conditions (HAC) and Patient Safety Indicators (PSI).
Responsible for the reviewing outcome of external audits; prepares and submits appeals as appropriate.
Effectively trains coders in accordance with the official coding guidelines, ensuring adherence to coding industry best practices and standard
The expertise and e xperiences you’ll need to succeed :
Minimum qualifications :
High School Grad or Equivalent and 5 years' experience
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or high school graduate with certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required.
Five years coding experience in a hospital setting
Registered Health Information Technician
