In this role you will act as the Subject Matter Expert to support our Employee Relation's Business Partners of all experience levels and personally handled escalated employee relations cases. **This position is fully remote with a Monday - Friday schedule based around general business hours in MST.**

POSITION SUMMARY
This is a centralized role within a system-wide Employee Relations Center of Excellence. This position provides strategic Employee Relations consulting from a broad-based HR perspective leveraging subject matter expertise and technology. This subject matter expert manages all external agency charges and regulatory concerns in the Employee Relations space. Individuals in this role are considered subject matter experts and provide key education on current legal and regulatory topics impacting the employee relations function. Collaborates with key HR, business and cross-functional partners to ensure resolution of escalated employee relations issues. They mentor and advise multiple field Employee Relations team members who are assigned to one or more business units. Responsible for the development and implementation of workplace policies and Employee Relations programs in alignment with system strategy and compliance with regulatory requirements enterprise wide. This role is responsible for the most complex and highest risk investigations across the system.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Effectively analyze employee relations data, work environment factors, system initiatives and regulatory developments to provide strategic consulting on systemic issues, potential risk, best practices and regulatory compliance. Recommend solutions including adjustments to workplace policies and practices as appropriate.
2. Reviews and analyzes facility employee and operational statistics on HR compliance related concerns, complaint investigations, external charges, comply line trends, turnover, and employee engagement to identify trends, activities, and potential issues within business units and across the system.
3. Lead or participate in projects and initiatives that are broad in scope or which have significant employee relations impact to the organization. Deliver Employee Relations services efficiently and effectively. Leverage organizational resources and continuous improvement mindset to recommend policy and process improvements.
4. Lead complex compliance and employee relations investigations; effectively summarize findings and mitigation opportunities in written reports and electronic case management system
5. Leader of complex or sensitive investigations, particularly for executives and providers.
Acts as a primary resource consulting on investigatory plans of action for field employee relations; consults as a subject matter expert and ensure consistency and quality of investigations that are conducted by field employee relations teams.
6. Responsible for leading investigations and documentation of Position Statements required in partnership with Legal and Regulatory in responding to external EEOC, CCRD and DOL charges brought forward by current and former employees, leaders and Providers; evaluation and assessment of ADA accommodations and placements, and complex Leave of Absence scenarios system-wide; evaluation and assessment of complicated Provider claims and investigations; development of Employee Relations specific training for leaders, Human Resources staff and employees to ensure consistency and compliance within regulatory requirements and related policies and procedures.
7. Stays abreast of activities in other areas of Human Resources, industry trends, and positively and reliably represents all of HR to facility staff and managers. Appropriately conveys concerns and issues to stakeholders.
8. Collaborates with all HR teams to enhance and facilitate performance improvement, maintain effective communication between all areas of HR and entity operations and to develop and implement system, region, entity and department level goals and objectives.
9. Interacts with all levels of senior management, often relaying highly sensitive messages, coaching and counseling managers in appropriate application of programs and policies, and dealing with very high complex, and sometimes emotional situations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency level typically gained through a combination of a four year degree in Human Resources, Management, Business, or related field along with several years of increasingly responsible work experience in HR.
Requires five to seven years Employee Relations experience in employment law and conflict resolution. Needs basic familiarity with principles of compensation, recruiting, and organizational development. Needs effective interviewing skills, with attention to detail, accuracy, deadlines, and confidentiality. Able to communicate effectively and with sensitivity about employee issues. Requires proven ability to analyze complex situations considering multiple factors. Demonstrated ability to conduct investigations, perform research and accurately document findings to support the company’s position is required. An ability to communicate effectively formally and informally in small and large groups, including making executive level presentations; understanding of organization and facility operations; highly developed business case development and project management skills.
PC skills including working knowledge of the Microsoft environment and the ability to access, manipulate, organize and relay information in a meaningful way. Demonstrated ability to deal with personal and highly confidential information in a professional manner. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Professional in Human Resources or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) designation preferred. Past experience in health care environment highly desirable. Experience in one of the key focal areas preferred; may include ADA practices, Provider case Investigations, Employment law and External Charge investigations and education development.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
