Position Responsibilities:

 

Leads others by demonstrating courtesy, efficiency, and speed in serving food items to customers.           Greets customers cheerfully and respectfully.  Responds utilizing positive interpersonal skills. Provides customer service quickly so back-ups or snags are prevented. Responds to changes in customer flow by being proactive in anticipating needs and requesting additional assistance from team leader when appropriate. Recognizes names of all food items served and be able to explain content to customers if necessary. Serves customers swiftly with a polite and dignified approach without compromising quality of service for speed. Evaluates quality of products.  Takes initiative for any products that do not meet department standards and discards of them.  Then records all items discarded. Remains courteous and calm when dealing with customer complaints; Solves any problems that may occur with a customer.  Reports any incidents to the Team Leader or Sr. Retail Manager.                                   Ensures all area personnel provides the same level of fine service to all customers. Follows department cash handling guidelines and policies to ensure all sales into the cash register with accuracy. Demonstrates competency in serving food items to customers. Prepares and package food items as assigned. Prevents run-outs of all food items by checking on items through out the day.  If items run low in storage the shift lead must then notify management of the items needed. Demonstrates a cost conscious attitude in the daily operation; practice cost control measures by using portion control, minimizing waste.  Keeps refrigerated units closed when not in use. Performs Cash Outs at the end of the shift consistently following department guidelines and policies. Performs infection control (hand-washing) for the protection of others and self and checks area staff compliance.          Demonstrates a working knowledge of food service sanitation; use accepted techniques in handling, preparation; service, and holding of food items to employees and guests. Maintains a high performance level at work.  Respond to change in the workload schedule as necessary; use time in a productive manner.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Qualifications:

 

Hospital food service experience preferred, but on-the-job training is provided
