COG Reinsurance FP&A Leader

The COG Reinsurance FP&A Leader is responsible for overseeing the financial management and success of the reinsurance organization, ensuring compliance with the company’s policies and procedures, and providing strategic financial guidance and analytic tools to the reinsurance leadership team and the overall finance function.

Responsibilities 

Business Partnering: Day to day active business partnering across all reinsurance leaders, including the buying teams, controllership, and operations, and across Commercial Lines business and Finance leaders at both the COG and regional level.  Business partnering includes communicating financial information and presenting analysis and recommendations to impact future financial performance and KPIs. Financial Planning and Analysis: Drive and lead on all COG reinsurance financial planning and analysis activities, including annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and monthly and quarterly performance. Includes preparing insightful analytics and narrative on material drivers for variances on KPIs and delivering that timely to FP&A, Commercial DFO, and Reinsurance business partners.  Oversee reconciliation of all global reinsurance activity across FP&A activities. Data Analytic Tools: Design, implement and deliver analytical tools that provide timely insights and trend analysis on business performance across all reinsurance KPIs.  Lead documentation of business requirements and liase with COG BI team to create visualization tools designed to inform leadership on performance indicators that allow them to self-service. Pro-actively identify key risks and mitigating strategies and key opportunities and accompanying business strategies based on analytics.  Financial Compliance: Strong business partnering with COG Head of FP&A, COG Controllership and COG DFO teams to ensure compliance of the division, regional and local Commercial operations with local and US GAAP policies, as well as company policies and procedures Data Governance:  Develop and manage the governance and ownership of reinsurance data, including the maintenance and distribution of data required by Regions. Reinsurance Strategy: Work with regional reinsurance teams and reinsurance business to develop and implement business strategies that align with the company’s financial goals. Lead on business cases for all changes in reinsurance strategy, ensuring stakeholder management across all senior executives to deliver a “no surprise” structured & timely sign-off an approval process as required  Leadership: Manage and develop a team of business and finance professionals, including training and performance management Drive process improvement & automation: Lead and drive continuous process improvement and adopt IT enabled efficiency benefits into the day-to-day financial reporting processes for Reinsurance across all of COG. Refine and document key finance processes and procedures as necessary. Other Ad Hoc:  Support other ad hoc Finance projects, requests, and initiatives identified by management in desired timeframe.  This includes anticipating future requests based on current activities/events and presenting options/solutions. Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or accounting (or equivalent experience) 7+ years’ experience in finance related fields, within the insurance industry Significant background in reinsurance, financial planning, financial analytics, forecasting, accounting, reporting, and controls Strong analytic skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Language benefits include Spanish & Mandarin  Expertise in end user applications such as TM1, QlikSense, Power BI
