ALTA IT is hiring a Junior Cognos Administrator for a government client. Cognos Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of IBM Cognos Analytics. You will monitor system performance, ensure data integrity, and support users in leveraging Cognos tools to generate insightful reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, and maintain IBM Cognos Analytics and related components. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal functionality and availability. Manage user access, security settings, and permissions within the Cognos environment. Conduct regular system updates and patches to maintain security and compliance. Assist in the design and implementation of reports, dashboards, and data models as needed. Provide support and training to end-users, helping them maximize the capabilities of Cognos tools. Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Cognos with other data sources and systems. Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference. Stay current with IBM Cognos developments and best practices to recommend improvements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in administering IBM Cognos Analytics or similar BI tools. Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and dashboard design in Cognos. Proficient in SQL and data querying for report development. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. IBM Cognos certification is a plus.
