•Participate in business analysis activities to gather required reporting and dashboard requirements
 •3+ years' experience developing and implementing enterprise-scale reports and dashboards, including  ◦Working with users in a requirements analysis role
 ◦Extensive experience with data warehouse implementations
 ◦Knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts (relational and dimensional)
 •Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards
•Transition developed reports and dashboards to the Operations & Support team
•Provide support as required to ensure the availability and performance of developed reports and dashboards for both external and internal users
•Ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented for your sphere of influence
 •Provide training and assistance to users for generation of adhoc reports
 •Design and implement technology best practices, guidelines and repeatable processes
 •Must be able to perform duties with moderate to low supervision
•Proficiency with Cognos BI (preferably v10.x) product suite (Report Studio and Workspace Advanced required, others tools a plus)
 •Performance tuning experience related to reporting queries required
•Programming / scripting experience and knowledge of software development life cycle is preferred. •Understanding of data integration issues (validation and cleaning), familiarity with complex data and structures
•Excellent interpersonal ( verbal and written) communication skills are required to support working in project environments that includes internal, external and customer teams
 •Requires strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities
•Ability to manage multiple priorities, and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities
•Provide technical assistance and cross training to other team members.
 •Requires leadership qualities to mentor junior members of the team.
Job Level Specific Duties
 • Defines overall application functional / business requirements with end users. Recommends solution modifications, configurations, and processes.
 • Implements, designs and / or upgrades applications.
 • Creates test plans for projects.
• Analyzes model test discrepancies to find trends and works with programmers to resolve.
• Establishes cost and time estimates for development and implementation of projects.
 • Produces business process flow charts.
 • Creates communication plans (correspondence, presentations, and other materials) for knowledge transfer to leadership.
• Evaluates user requirements for one or more specialized business applications and translates those needs into defined user assessment plans or specifications used in determining end-user business or technical needs.
• Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.
• Acts a team leader for projects with moderate budgets or of a short to intermediate duration.
 • Mentors less experienced team members.

Typical Years of Experience
• Requires 5-7 years relevant IT experience.
 • P&C knowledge and experience a plus.

Education Requirements for the Position

 

A Bachelor’s Degree or Higher or Foreign Equivalent in a related field of Study is required with related experience.
