Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgist with a focus in cold rolled steel sheet or galvanized sheet steel experience. Principal duties of the successful candidate will include:

Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts Lead process optimization activities, both quality and cost Provide technical support and training for all operational activities Utilizing statistical process control tools to direct continuous improvement activities Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent steel production experience.

Experience in a steel mill in the form of prior work experience (internships or full-time)

Preferred Qualifications: Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems Experience with coordinating and executing trials, dispositioning material, reporting data, and improving quality Experience as a mill metallurgist Experience with customer support, both internally and externally
