Job Description
**Job Summary**
Provides day-to-day monitoring and operation of 179 miles of collections system lift stations and daily maintenance of collection system.
**Essential Job Functions**
Operates and maintains equipment associated with the operation of a wastewater collection system
Performs field tests of equipment to determine maintenance needed, and performs basic troubleshooting of equipment.
Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and takes corrective action. Performs routine lubrication of equipment and motors and replaces oil reserves; performs and monitors installation of new/replacement equipment, and sanitary and storm pipelines, and obtains necessary parts through established procedures. Assures work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating and emergency response procedures.
Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for work area, tools, and equipment. Performs related collection duties as needed.
**Essential Job Requirements**
Ability to work in various positions which require (70%) walking, (20%) bending, and sitting (10%).
Ability to lift ad carry, 60 pounds in standing and bending positions and carry while walking distances of ten feet
Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions, and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time.
Must have a CDL drivers license and operators license with safe driving record
Requires working knowledge of the standard practices, common tools, materials, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade, as acquired through on-the job training.
Must have the ability to safely use trade tools and equipment to inspect maintain, troubleshoot, or install mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment.
Requires good reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills; and the ability to read interpret and record data.
Requires ability to carry out verbal and written instructions.
Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other empoyees
Must possess Class B CDL License with proper endorsements and the ability to obtain a hydraulics and hoisting license. Must have professional integrity and confidentiality and have the ability to work well and communicate with clients, upper management, and the general public; and to establish effective working relationships with other employees.
Requires wearing the appropriate safety equipment.
Must carry pager when foreman is on an approved leave of absence (i.e. vacation,personal time, etc. or when situations warrant it).
