Collections And Resolution Specialist
Job Title: Collections and Resolution SpecialistJob Description As a Collections and Resolution Specialist, you will actively collect open accounts receivable (AR) balances by contacting customers and supporting branch personnel. You will update the Get Paid AR collection system, respond to customer inquiries, reconcile accounts, and perform administrative tasks. You will also handle past due commercial accounts, establish payment arrangements, counsel customers, manage collection objectives, and complete skip tracing when necessary. Responsibilities + Actively collect open AR balances by contacting customers and supporting branch personnel. + Update the Get Paid AR collection system with customer contact information, notes on account status, payment promises, disputes, escalations, and referrals. + Respond to customer inquiries and direct issues to the appropriate person for resolution. + Reconcile accounts and perform additional administrative tasks as assigned. + Place calls to and receive calls from past due commercial account holders to discuss payment arrangements. + Establish acceptable payment arrangements, including settlements, while building positive customer relationships. + Counsel customers to assist in finding funds to bring their accounts current. + Generate and respond to written correspondence in a professional and compliant manner. + Maintain accurate documentation of conversations and arrangements with customers. + Manage collection objectives with professionalism and persuasiveness. + Recommend next steps for unresponsive or non-performing accounts. + Complete skip tracing when contact with customers ceases. + Work effectively with salespersons, branch personnel, and other team members to resolve accounts. + Search for payments in unapplied cash. Essential Skills + Experience in accounts receivable (AR), collections, and resolution. + Proficiency with Salesforce and MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). + 2+ years of experience in high-volume collections, research, resolution, and de-escalation. Additional Skills & Qualifications + College coursework in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems preferred. + Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry preferred. Work Environment The position is based in an office environment in Fells Point. You will work as part of a team reporting to the AR/Collections manager. The work hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. The company has recently merged with Algeco and rebranded, leading to rapid growth and exciting new marketing initiatives.
