**Position Specific Description**
**Position Overview:** NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced and motivated Collections Manager to lead our collections team. The Collections Manager will be responsible for managing the collections process, developing and implementing strategies to improve collections performance, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of credit risk management, and a passion for optimizing accounts receivable performance.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee and manage the daily operations of the collections department, ensuring efficient and effective collections processes.
+ Develop and implement strategic plans to reduce outstanding receivables and improve cash flow.
+ Monitor and analyze collections metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.
+ Supervise and mentor collections specialists and business analysts, providing guidance and support as needed.
+ Manages first- and third-party collections vendor relationships and performance
+ Coordinate with internal departments, including billing, customer service, and legal, to address and resolve complex billing discrepancies and collection issues.
+ Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance collections efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Manage the preparation of demand letters, payment plans, and other collection-related correspondence.
+ Oversees analysis of accounts receivable, the write off process and aging of accounts to determine strategies to recover overdue account balances
+ Other operational support duties as assigned
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Credit Risk Certification) preferred.
+ Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in a collections management role, with a strong track record of success in managing accounts receivable and credit risk.
+ In-depth knowledge of collections practices, financial analysis, and relevant regulations.
+ Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; experience with accounting and collections software preferred.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
+ Detail-oriented and highly organized.
**Job Overview**
This job is responsible for the day to day activities of the organization, including throughput processing, exception monitoring, metric tracking and issue resolution consistent with an optimally functioning business unit.

+ Prepares spreadsheets, graphics, and word documents as required for tracking, reporting, analysis, documentation and presentations
+ Collaborates with internal stakeholders to define effective customer solutions to meet business needs
+ Ensures compliance of rules and regulations across all customer segments in all states
+ Assists in creating and maintaining process documentation across markets
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
+ Experience: 8+ years
+ Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Experience 10+ years
+ Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
