What will I do in this role?
The position of Collections Representative is established for the collection of payment of loans issued by the credit union which have become delinquent. Maintain quality service standards set by the organization.
What qualifications do I need to have for this role?
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent.
-Minimum two years Collections experience in a financial institution; collecting on secured and unsecured accounts preferred. If financial institution experience is outside of a Collections Department, may consider an internal SDCCU employee with a demonstrated high level of critical thinking, consistently meeting deadlines, delivering quality work and a willingness to train and learn high level Collections functions.
-Effective communication skills, written and oral.
-Ability to work effectively under pressure.
-Proficient PC skills to include Word & Excel.
Preferences:
-Collecting on secured and unsecured accounts preferred.
-Working knowledge of bankruptcy and legal procedures, dealing with delinquency control, collection procedures and skip tracing experience preferred.
-Understanding of repossession procedures preferred.
-On-line collection system experience preferred.
-Prior experience working in a high call volume environment preferred.

This role is Location Dependent and is based at 6545 Sequence Drive, San Diego, CA 92121.
What is the pay range?
Pay Scale: $25.25-$29.75 (Per Hour)

WEEKDAY SCHEDULE Monday 8:30am-5:30pm Tuesday 8:30am-5:30pm Wednesday 8:30am-5:30pm Thursday 8:30am-5:30pm Friday 8:30am-5:30pm Saturday 8:30am-4pm Sunday OFFFor exempt roles, standard business hours are referenced above.
Additional Schedule Details (If Applicable): Rotating Saturdays 1-2 times per month with another weekday off.
