This position processes account receivable functions and aids in recording tax payments. Performs related duties as required. Metro Finance has several divisions, including procurement, treasury and management and budget. Department employees provide financial management, information and business products to policy makers, departments, investors and the Nashville community to give them confidence in our government and to help them make informed decisions. Typical Duties + Assists in the collections of various taxes and fees. + Processes payments and records receivable transactions in the General Ledger. + Participates in various financial compliance related tasks. + Informs taxpayers of Collection policies. + Assists taxpayers on using accounts receivable software. + Provides data and reports for the department. + Participates in reviewing banking transactions daily. + Works on special projects as needed. + Attends meetings and workshops as needed. + Supports the Collections Team in all Collection activities. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field with (1) one year of experience in collections. "Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education" Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply. Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
