Job Description

The Collections Specialist will be responsible for initiating calls to delinquent customers by phone to collect payments and settle accounts. The ideal candidate must communicate clearly and thoroughly, maintain a high level of professionalism, and be customer-focused. The applicant must be an initiative-taker with strong work ethics, who can function effectively under tight deadlines and schedules. This role involves close collaboration with the sales team, so strong and clear communication skills are essential. Job duties include:

Monitor customer’s account balances to identify outstanding debts and contact them to collect the balances owed.

Identify financial warning signs and notify management of customers exhibiting those indicators.

Maintain accurate records of communications and payment arrangements.

Report to management on collection activity and status of overdue balances.

Interact with customers on past due accounts, past due balances, go over payment plans options, and declined payments.

Research, reconcile, and resolve open items.

Ensure unapplied credits and payments are identified on a timely basis and cleared against outstanding receivable balances.

Provide reports and summaries of collection activities to management as needed.

Collaborate with sales representatives and other departments to resolve discrepancies, gather information, or address issues in sales orders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
