Description Job Overview: We are looking for a Commercial Collector to join our accounts receivable team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial accounts, making a high volume of calls to collect outstanding balances, and ensuring timely payment from B2B clients. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and is proficient in Excel for reporting and analysis. Key Responsibilities: Collections Calls: + Make 18+ calls per day to clients to follow up on overdue invoices and resolve payment issues. + Effectively communicate with clients, negotiate payment arrangements, and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances. + Build and maintain positive relationships with clients while managing collections professionally. Account Management: + Monitor accounts receivable aging and prioritize collection efforts based on account status and outstanding balances. + Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, working with the sales and customer service teams as necessary. + Ensure accurate account records and documentation of all communications and payment arrangements. Excel Reporting: + Utilize Excel to generate and analyze reports, including but not limited to aging reports, payment trends, and collection status. + Proficient in VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas to work with large data sets and track collections activity. Team Collaboration: + Work closely with other team members to ensure consistent and effective collection efforts. + Contribute to team goals and share best practices for improving collection processes. Self-Starter and Initiative: + Proactively identify accounts at risk of becoming delinquent and take immediate action to collect payments. + Demonstrate a strong sense of initiative and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and meet individual and team collection goals. Dispute Resolution: + Handle disputes and escalations professionally, working to resolve issues quickly and amicably to avoid delays in payment. Requirements Qualifications: Education: + High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Experience: + 3+ years of experience in commercial collections + Familiarity with Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and simple formulas to track and analyze data. Skills & Abilities: + Must be comfortable making a high volume of calls (18+ calls per day) and maintaining a professional demeanor. + Strong communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being a strong team player. + Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. + Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
