Description We are working with a well-established construction company that is seeking a skilled Collection Specialist to join their growing team. This role focuses on managing and collecting outstanding receivables, updating aging reports, and accurately posting payments. Key Responsibilities: + Review and monitor the aging report to identify overdue accounts and prioritize collection efforts. + Contact clients via phone and email to follow up on outstanding payments while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor. + Update and maintain the aging report with all relevant notes, communication updates, and payment statuses. + Post and record payments accurately in the accounting system. + Resolve payment discrepancies and disputes by collaborating with clients and internal departments. + Assist with preparing reports for management related to A/R balances and collection progress. + Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding collections and accounting practices. Requirements + Previous experience as a Collection Specialist or in a related accounts receivable role, preferably within the construction industry. + Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. + Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail. + Ability to handle difficult conversations while maintaining professionalism and a customer-focused attitude. + Knowledge of construction-related billing terms and processes is a plus. + Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective resolution and follow-up.
