Collections Specialist
Description The collections specialist is responsible for making outbound and taking inbound calls from patients regarding their outstanding medical bills. - Explain to patients their insurance coverage, deductible, copay, etc. - De-escalate patient and address questions and concerns - Facilitate payment plans or obtain payment in full - Maintain patient records and documentation - 100 calls/day, but they're only talking to about 15 calls/day. This position is commissions eligible after training/when hired on. The average collector makes $1500/month. Commission is based on their individual collections and also the team's collection goal. Their top collector is making over $3k a month. Skills collection calls, collections customer service, collections medical, medical billing, health insurance Top Skills Details collection calls, collections customer service, collections medical Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge and experience with medical insurance and medical billing process is preferred. Face to face with customers is a big differentiator. It takes more skill to deal with a difficult customer in person rather than on the phone. Someone with a lot of patience. People with a lot of logic tend to be great. Creative problem solvers. Really likes people with great tenure. Experience Level Intermediate Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.32 - $20.32/hr.
