Position Responsibilities:

Identifies delinquent accounts, aging period and payment sourcesPerforms collection actions including contacting the payer by telephone and resubmitting claims to third party for reimbursement.Evaluates patient financial status and establishes payment plans when appropriate.Reviews accounts for possible assignment to collection agency, makes recommendation to manager and prepares information for collection agency as needed.Documents all patient contact and insurance follow up update as necessary to ensure information is accurate.
 
Requirements:High school graduate or equivalent level of training.One year experience in Healthcare Collections, Hospital or Physician settingExperience working with Medicare/Medicaid, Replacement Plans, Managed Care Contracts, HMOs, Commercial and Worker Compensation claims.One year of experience in hospital patient access will be considered, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient registration and scheduling.Use of various payer online claims tools is a plus.
