College Aide
Job Description The New York County District Attorney's Office (DANY) has an immediate opening for a Part-time College Aide in its Survivor Services Bureau. In this position the person is responsible for providing administrative support to the unit. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Data entry. - Compiling and reconciling billing documents. - Credit Card account management. - Updating of SSB administrative spreadsheets. - Front Desk Coverage. - Responding to phone calls to the Unit. Preferred Requirements/Skills: - Experience in a law office or business. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong attention to detail and accuracy. - Strong organizational skills. - Ability to prioritize assignments. - Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to quickly master new computer systems and to update and edit existing applicant tracking database. - Ability to absorb and retain information and apply it in new situations. - A proactive approach and the ability to work "hands-on" as required. - Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently. - Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented and self-motivated, and able to multi-task and adapt to changes in workflow. - Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment. - Ability to interact professionally and effectively across all levels of management. Qualifications For Assignment Level I: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school. For Assignment Level II (Information Technology): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. For Assignment Level III (Information Technology Fellow): Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study. Appointments to this Assignment Level will be made by the Technology Steering Committee through the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. SPECIAL NOTE Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years. No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session. Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods.
