General Description
The Student Success Coaching Unit is seeking a part-time College Assistant to support the Academic Completion Initiative (ACI). The ACI coordinates all program activities for students on academic probation. This is a two-year grant funded position. The College Assistant will work 20 hours per week to support the collection, analysis and presentation of data related to the Academic Completion Initiative. Under the supervision of senior staff members, the College Assistant will be responsible for the following:
+ Assist with monthly and quarterly reports.
+ Provide clerical support to the ACI.
+ Under assigned supervision, performs varied and responsible data management, research, and administrative support functions.
+ Manages data collection, prepares and maintains a variety of qualitative and quantitative data, including but not limited to data from the student assessment survey.
+ Perform related duties as assigned.
Other Duties
+ Under supervision, performs miscellaneous clerical, administrative, research, or other work related to the operation of a College or other unit where such work is required on a part-time basis or for a period of limited duration.
+ Performs routine clerical work; may answer and attend to telephone calls; maintain records, operate office machines (such as copier), sort and distribute mail, issue keys and identity cards, act as messenger, and perform related tasks as required.
+ Types letters, memoranda, charts, and similar materials. Assists in statistical or research activities. May collect and compile data, code data for computer entry, perform data entry, and run computer reports.
+ Enters and maintains departmental records such as inventory control records, rosters, directories, and schedules.May operate computers, computer software, and other electronic equipment in performing assigned tasks.
+ There is one Assignment Level for this position. All personnel perform related work. This specification describes typical assignments; related duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ Must demonstrate sufficient skills to perform the duties of the assigned tasks.
+ Current Hostos student or Hostos Alumni enrolled at another institution.
+ Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
+ Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
+ Ability to take initiative when necessary and willingness to learn.
+ Strong computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) is highly desired.
+ Ability to collect, analyze, and present data.
+ Flexibility with work schedule.
