Description

Role Mission: As a member of the College Counseling Team, the College Counselor executes the graduation plan and college enrollment for all students at their assigned campus. In this capacity, College Counselors deploy initiatives to educate students about college education and help students navigate the college research, admissions, and enrollment process. This leader will work in a fast paced, rapidly expanding entrepreneurial environment, in pursuit of college matriculation goals.

 

This role will require up to approximately 25% travel annually. Typically, this will look like travel for districtwide events and occasional monthly travel to schools and professional development opportunities. 

This is a Title I Part A, grant funded position and funding may be extended. A grant-funded position has no guarantee of ongoing and indefinite employment. All duties and responsibilities tied to this position are allowable and allocable to the grant.

Compensation: 

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between 59,880 and 69,161 commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferredExperience: At least 2 years of teaching experience in K-12 or higher education, preferred; 1+ years of college access experience, requiredCertificate: Valid Counseling certificate preferred

 

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environmentExperience in college admissions is preferableAbility to build solid student and family relationshipsStrong command of the English language both verbal and written

Responsibilities:

Execute college enrollment campaigns (quality applications campaign, financial aid campaign, matriculation campaign) for the campusAdvise and motivate students towards college enrollment, Tier 1, and Tier 2 college matriculation, improving ACT scores and OTG ratesSupport with the school’s master schedule, schedule all students, and audit transcripts for appropriate course placementInitiate and oversee initiatives that improve the quality of student applicants and, in turn, the quality of college admissions and college enrollmentsReport progress towards goals to regional and campus leadership and advise on schoolwide pivots necessary to deliver resultsAnalyze data dashboards, resources, and communications to meet benchmarked resultsEnforce procedures that both meet college readiness compliance requirements and create transformational practices that improve college completion ratesSupport RTTC teachers in planning college field lessons and ACT prep lessonsDesign college-going culture initiatives with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for their communityParticipate in professional development from national and external stakeholders
