College of Medicine Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator

Reporting to the Director of Assessment and Evaluation, the Assessment and Evaluation Coordinator organizes the various aspects of the student assessment and course evaluation process across all four years of the Curriculum at the Thomas F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine at Belmont University.

Primary position responsibilities: 

Oversees the operations of exams, including room schedules, coordinating proctors, ordering [BF2] exams, and facilitating the delivery of exams in person or asynchronously (if necessary). Troubleshoots technical issues during exams and ensures compliance with accreditation standards. Manages exam software and attends necessary training on proctoring and item security.Conducts faculty training sessions to facilitate proficiency in various assessment platforms and tools.
Ensures all assessment activities comply with established policies and standards set by internal and external organizations.Performs initial review and editing of summative quiz questions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with assessment standards.Constructs exams in multiple assessment platforms based on faculty-selected questions.Collaborates with faculty and instructional designer to ensure accuracy, proper setup, and compliance with institutional grading policies within the Canvas gradebook for all courses.Generates reports of educational outcomes and evaluations (e.g., course, faculty evaluations, student grades) to support data-driven decisions by key stakeholders.Utilizes tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar platforms for data analysis and reporting.Responds to student inquiries regarding assessment schedules and the use of testing technology.Works with the Assessment and Evaluation team to develop, review, and evaluate all medical school courses, programs, curriculum phases, and clinical rotations, collaborating on policy development related to assessments and evaluations.Tracks and monitors the progress of course improvements for the Office of Medical Education, including creating documentation, timelines, and action plans.Stays current with advancements in educational technology and assessment trends to continuously enhance processes and tools.The above statements describe the job’s essential responsibilities and requirements.  They are not an exhaustive list of the duties that may be assigned to job incumbents.
