The University of Virginia’s College at Wise (UVA Wise located in Wise, Virginia) would like to invite applications for the position of Buyer.  The College Services Department seeks a qualified candidate who has excellent oral and written skills and can manage multiple tasks in an ever-changing environment.  This position will oversee the daily operations of UVA Wise Fleet Management; assist with central receiving; assist with procurement activities; and assist with audits and claims as necessary with University Risk Management.  This individual will serve as a key partner to the campus community.   

JOB DESCRIPTION

For fiscal support, may prepare invoices and purchase requisitions, enter and extract financial information, prepare monthly reconciliations for multiple fund sources, purchase supplies, and process purchases on purchasing card.Additionally, will need to train & provide assistance to departmental end users with regards to fiscal support and purchasing needs.Oversee the logistics of College Fleet program including but not limited to vehicle scheduling, maintenance scheduling, billing charges, & budget reconciliation.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School Diploma
Experience: At least one year of experience in a customer service environment
Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.  The job does require lifting up to 50 lbs. in some instances.  The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings and programs.
