ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Master Data and Documentation Specialist, you will be part of the Technical Organization River (TOR) that oversees Maintenance & Repair Operations for Viking’s fleet of 80+ river ships. The Master Data and Documentation Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining and improving the quality of master data and logistics processes.
This interesting and diverse role is based in Cologne (Germany) and it requires travelling based on business needs and projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Master data responsibilities
• Categorize the existing technical item database and standardize them according to Viking standards
• Ensure proper creation, high consistency, accuracy and categorization of items and associate items with specific assets and procurement data sets
• Monitoring and analyzing master data quality metrics and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Maintain documentation for master data processes, data governance policies and standards
• Perform regular audits, training and validations to ensure data integrity and quality
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in data management
Document management, logistics and maintenance operations
• Understand dependencies of maintenance activities, documentation, supply chain and master data
• Document management of all technical documents
• Monitor and manage document workflows
• Conduct regular audits to assess document quality, accuracy and expiration
• Collaborate closely with maintenance and supply chain stakeholders
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Education and professional experience
• Completed degree or proven qualification in information management, engineering, logistics or multiple years of experience in the industry
• Relevant knowledge and general understanding of technical spare parts and components or logistics industries desirable
• Familiar with warehouse management systems and electronic document management systems, experience with Dynamics365 desirable
• Experience with data analytics, regulatory requirements, business intelligence tools and knowledge of data privacy regulations
• Knowledge of data processing methods, SQL and an understanding of databases is a plus
• Experience with AI-related software is a plus
