Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Commercial Banking Portfolio Manager in Middle Market Banking as part of the Southeast Division Credit Portfolio Management team. This position is responsible for credit portfolio management to meet the long-term financial objectives and risk tolerance for commercial banking clients.  This position serves as a key member of a client’s deal team.  Clients are general in a broad array of commercial and industrial industries, along with investor real estate owners.


In this role, you will:

Research complex credit investigations and diverse credit information for loansIdentify opportunity for process improvements within scope of responsibilities or functional areaReview and identify basic operational assignments that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives while exercising independent judgement to guide medium risk deliverablesPresent recommendations for resolving complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise in the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirementsCollaborate and consult with functional colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders including internal as well as external customers


Required Qualifications:

2+ years of Commercial Banking Portfolio Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

Complex credit underwriting experience including advanced commercial/Middle Market credit or real estate investment portfolio credit

5+ years of commercial underwriting experience

A BS/BA degree or higher

Loan negotiation (rates, terms, and collateral requirements) experienceUnderwriting experience including advanced commercial or specialty group relationship portfolio creditExtensive knowledge and understanding of credit policy, loan servicing, risk management and group underwriting requirementsKnowledge and understanding of commercial and specialty group banking products and servicesIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsStrong analytical skills including analyzing complex dataExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Job Expectations:

Ability to travel up to 5 % of the timeAbility to work a hybrid work schedule- 4 days in office, 1 remoteAbility to report to any of the posted locations

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

$84,000.00 - $179,200.00
