The hiring range for this opportunity is $165,000 to $195,000 annually along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a player-coach, manages a team of Commercial Bankers (new business acquisition) and Portfolio Managers. Focuses on new and existing relationships, including but not limited to generating and managing loan and deposit portfolios, fee income and overall profitability of business unit, fostering a balance between loan production, credit quality, and risk management through adherence of established Bank policies. Retains, strengthens and develops relationships using situational awareness and the ability to identify client and industry strengths and weaknesses, assesses risk, and matches Tri Counties’ product offerings with client needs when providing creative solutions.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Leads all business development efforts for assigned team including personal goals in loan production, loan growth, deposit growth, and fee income generation.
• Develops, implements, monitors and manages the regional marketing plan. This includes COI development as well as cold calling and other marketing strategies.
• Coaches Commercial Bankers in their efforts to develop new relationships to the Bank, with the main focus on operating business relationships.
• Manages a team of Portfolio Managers to manage credit quality (timely collection of financials) and grow the current portfolio, while ensuring the overall relationship is managed to the highest profit potential for the Bank.
• Assists team in structuring of credit as well as reviews and helps present credit analysis and recommends credit structure to Credit Administration.
• Works with team to negotiate transactions and price loans within authority limits or recommends pricing approval.
• Works directly with leadership to develop and deliver pricing strategies in geographic market.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and manages Commercial Bankers and Portfolio Managers. Manages staffing levels to appropriately and effectively manage the client portfolio and capitalize on acquisition opportunities in the market.
• Maintains a current knowledge of the Bank’s Credit Underwriting Guidelines. Regularly trains and coaches Commercial Bankers on structuring prospective borrowing relationships.
• Maintains an awareness of competitive products, practices, rates and changes in market areas.
• Ensures team compliance with ongoing Quarterly and Annual Bank policies and procedures and compliance with all federal and state laws.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participates in civic and community affairs as appropriate.
• Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED
• High school diploma or GED required; undergraduate degree preferred.
• 5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in commercial lending.
• Advanced credit analysis and accounting skills.
• Proven track record of success in driving growth in a commercial banking environment.
• Ability to develop a high degree of trust through demonstrated personal integrity and ethics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of expertise in all aspects and products of Commercial Banking.
• Proven leader in sales with recent, solid experience in a relationship management channel. Ability to coach and motivate a team.
