Our client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of speciality paints and coatings sold directly to the end user via retail channels, whilst also supporting the professional DIY sector via trade distributors. Due to the continued growth of the client, they have acquired a portfolio of companies falling outside of these traditional routes to market, and are now looking to appoint an experienced, commercially focussed E-commerce professional to oversee several of their top performing brands to further increase their online market share across the UK as well as developing increased online sales channels across Europe.
The role will form part of the wider Senior Management Team and will be play an instrumental role in helping to define the following areas. The absolute laser focus on the end user. The use of data to drive all elements from new product development to customer targeting. The use of digital communication tools to both the professional and the diy end user. The agility to capture opportunities before the competition. An understanding of the value of advocacy at all levels – influencers, stockists, and users. Massive growth opportunities both in the UK but also across the EU.The Commercial Director will be responsible for bringing the businesses together and creating an agile and entrepreneurial team that will disrupt the European paint market in new and exciting ways.
They will be a hands-on commercial leader that is technically astute, an ecommerce veteran and with a track record of digital transformation. They will need very strong interpersonal skills and an ability to lead by example, with the willingness to be able to travel across the UK and Europe to be able to fulfil the obligations of the role.
