As the Commercial Field Exam Manager you will supervise internal staff of professional commercial field examiners. Conduct reviews of exam reports conducted by internal staff or external vendors on the books, records and collateral of existing and prospective commercial customers for larger, moderate to high complexity/risk transactions to verify the value and existence of the bank’s collateral, mitigate the risk of fraud and assess the company’s viability. Such moderate to high complexity/risk credits often implicate multiple divisions/companies with complex structures and multiple sets of records and locations whereby the reliance on experience is critical to identify major issues and risk.
Primary responsibilities include
+ Perform independent reviews of internal and third-party reports on moderate to high complexity/risk commercial transactions including memorializing such review in a comprehensive written format for the benefit of internal customers (RMs/PMs; Division Executives, Credit Officers). Such reviews would encompass:
+ Verification of both the value and existence of collateral with a primary focus on accounts receivable (A/R) and inventory.
+ Assess trends and recommend enhancements to the deal structure in order to reduce the bank’s exposure.
+ Research and develop work papers and tests appropriate for specific industries.
+ Recommend procedures that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and provide increased insight into credits.
+ Direct, robust, and independent interaction with RMs/PMs, external vendors, RERS/CFE Analyst, and CML Field Examiners/Reviewers concerning individual CFE projects completed on a transactional basis including: interpretation of formal CFE requests submitted by RMs/PMs; interpretation of regulatory and policy requirements applicable to a particular transaction; scoping of the assignment; and, selection of the most appropriate vendor for the prospective project based upon experience, competency, familiarity with the industry, etc.
+ Interact with senior management of Wholesale Credit Risk, Commercial Lending and Citizens Restructuring Management regarding projects completed by CML Field Examiners/Reviewers or external vendors especially for those transactions/borrowers that represented a higher degree of risk or otherwise have identified field exam issues or concerns.
+ Supports and serve as the primary liaison and point-of-contact with both internal customers and external vendors with regard to regulatory requirements; identification and explanation of any issues of concern; and development/application of any potential risk mitigants.
Qualifications:
+ 10+ years' experience in public accounting, audit or asset-based lending environment within a financial institution
+ Experience providing direct, responsive customer service to external vendors and internal customers (i.e., RMs/PMs/Division Executives/Credit Officers)
+ Experience Interacting with senior management.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
Hours & Work Schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 working from home
+ Hours per Week: 40
+ Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
