BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

As the Supervisor Commercial Finance Operations, you will be responsible for managing a small team, training and mentoring associates, providing leadership support, and analyzing, automating, validating, and reconciling discrepancies for all customer rebates. You will manage the customer rebate process end to end and will be expected to continuously improve the process through automation. You will execute value-added analysis to strategically guide our Sales Leaders by proposing rebate contract changes to grow revenue, expand margins and improve overall profit. This hands-on role requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset and must be able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Reporting to the Director, Sales Finance, this role will be critical to MSC by ensuring accuracy in payouts and accruals and presenting opportunities to improve time to revenue and drive sales growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer rebate ownership: Has direct accountability of MSC's overall Customer Rebate Program, included and not limited to;
+ provides operational direction and strategic management of rebate process
+ ensures processes are in place for accruals in line with MSC policy
+ ensures processes are in place for rebates to be accurately processed within customer timeline
+ evaluates rebate risk, recommend rebate requirements and negotiating terms
+ Work with the Internal Audit Team on projects/testing of rebate process.
+ Lead quarterly finance rebate meetings, presenting the status and forecast of rebates.
Managing People: Builds, leads, motivates and develops a team of professionals elevating their performance, providing effective mentoring and coaching as well as fostering a positive environment of collaboration and professional growth. Establishes and manages effective performance management metrics in support of achieving the team’s goals and objectives.
Business Partnership: Partners with cross-functional leaders to mitigate and remove barriers, communicate, and escalate as required to hold teams accountable to make and meet commitments.
Process Improvement:
+ Continuously optimizes processes to enhance productivity with the goal of improving decision quality and reducing cycle time through digitization.
+ Work cross functionally throughout the organization to help improve processes within the Rebate Team.
+ Directs and supports the development of effective and efficient solutions and processes to solve challenges and looks towards the future to anticipate potential problems
Other:
+ Understands and interprets organization goals and initiatives so that operational priorities are balanced and managed effectively.
+ Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Manager as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct.
+ Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC’s vision and unity of purpose.

QUALIFICATIONS
What You Need:
+ A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance or equivalent is required.
+ Minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in Accounting, Finance, Sales, Commercial Operations required.
+ Proven ability to work, communicate and negotiate effectively with cross-functional teams at all levels (senior mgmt. and executive level teams). Consistently viewed as a subject matter expert and influential partner by such teams, required.
+ Excellent verbal, written, presentation skills required.
+ Excellent organizational skills required.
+ Minimum of one year supervisory experience or leading teams is required.
+ Experience driving process improvements, process design and implementation across teams and functions.
+ Proven track record building financial models and automating processes.
+ Expert proficiency with Excel and Tableau, Alteryx, Business Objects required

+ Previous work with reviewing & interpreting contracts.
+ Previous experience managing customer rebate programs.
+ Previous experience leading/managing a team.
Other Requirements:
+ A valid driver’s license may be required.
+ Position requires up to 5% of travel.
Compensation starting at $72100 - $113300 depending on experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate’s relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
