Job Title: Commercial Handyman

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled handyman to install, repair, and maintain electrical and plumbing systems, pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and other fixtures in commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience in light electrical maintenance, collaborating with general contractors and other construction professionals, and following building plans and blueprints. The role involves responding to, diagnosing, and resolving plumbing and electrical emergencies, performing routine inspections, and light construction work.

ResponsibilitiesPerform light construction, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling, and electrical work as required.Perform light electrical maintenance.Collaborate with general contractors, electricians, and other construction professionals as needed.Respond to, diagnose, and resolve plumbing and electrical emergencies.Perform routine inspections of plumbing and drainage systems.Safely diagnose and repair common mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance issues.Perform assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.Two to five years of mechanical experience, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, including safety policies and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.Ability to use and operate handheld devices and business systems or document management software, including Microsoft Office.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position operates in a mobile role, requiring daily local travel between properties. You must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable with working weekends as needed. The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with flexibility. The dress code is professional and appropriate for a maintenance role.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Latham, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
