We are currently seeking a Commercial HVAC Start-Up Technician located near Lynchburg or Roanoke, VA. \n
Position Overview:\n
The Start-Up Technician is responsible for the installation, initial setup, testing, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems. This role ensures that HVAC systems are installed correctly, function efficiently, and meet all regulatory and safety standards. The Start-Up Technician will work closely with project managers, other technicians, and clients to deliver optimal system performance.\n
Responsibilities:\n\nInstallation and Setup: Install\/replace commercial HVAC systems and components according to blueprints and technical specifications.\nSystem Calibration: Adjust system settings to optimize performance and efficiency, including balancing airflow and refrigerant levels.\nTesting and Troubleshooting: Conduct initial tests to verify system operation, identify and resolve issues, and ensure proper functionality. Also performs warranty service calls to resolve issues with newly installed\/replaced systems.\nCompliance and Safety: Ensure all work meets safety standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct safety inspections and adhere to building codes.\nDocumentation: Maintain detailed records of work performed, system configurations, adjustments, and performance data. \nCustomer Interaction: Communicate effectively with clients, providing updates on project status, explaining technical issues, and offering solutions.\nCollaboration: Work with teammates and project managers to ensure the successful completion of projects.\nCompany Vehicle: Safely drives company vehicle, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all safety requirements.\n\n
Qualifications:\n\nEducation: High school diploma or equivalent.\nExperience: Minimum 3 years of field experience in commercial HVAC installation or repair. \nCertifications: EPA Section 608 Technician Certification required. Manufacturer-specific training is a plus.\nTechnical Skills: Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems. Proficiency in using HVAC tools and software. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.\nProblem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a focus on finding efficient and effective solutions.\nPhysical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, work at heights over 6ft, and perform physically demanding tasks. Manual dexterity and physical stamina.\nSoft Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills. Detail-oriented and able to work independently and as part of a team.\nDriver's License: Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.\n\n
