Job Summary:

The desirable candidate possesses the skills necessary to evaluate customer submissions and match them with a select group of insurance markets. This position will work with insurance underwriters, both on a direct and wholesale basis, to secure coverage for our customers. They will develop relationships with these markets, in addition to researching and securing new market relationships to match our customer base.

Responsibilities:

● Compile and analyze Motor Carrier data (Losses, Financials, Miles, Drivers) and determine risk exposures for insurance purposes.

● Create adhoc analysis relating to losses, safety, historical pricing and other aspects of the client profile

● Analyze coverages and highlight areas for additional insurance or remove coverage gaps.

● Communicate and negotiate with Insurance Companies to design a competitive and complete insurance program to meet the customer needs.

● Create quote packages for Producers to present to insureds that highlight all aspects of program design, offer alternative programs and provide requirements for binding with insurance company.

Requirements:

● Excellent analytical skills, especially related to cash flow analysis. This would include basic understanding of company financial statements.

● Intermediate, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Must understand formulas, linked worksheets and cause and effect relationships within a spreadsheet.

● Good interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with customers and markets over the phone and in person.

● Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, necessary to convey basic factual information, and support relevant conclusions.

● Exceptional organizational and follow up skills. The ideal candidate shows flexibility to adjust to changing priorities, has ability to multi-task, and can work within deadlines.

● Strong desire to learn or strengthen knowledge of commercial transportation insurance, transportation industry requirements, and agency procedures.

Education/Experience:

● BA in Business, preferably Accounting, Finance or Insurance

● Insurance company experience preferred

● Accounting or Analyst experience preferred
