What you should know about the role
This position performs a variety of functions necessary to aid the commercial loan origination process and ongoing servicing of the commercial lending portfolio, with particular focus on servicing the commercial loan once the loan has closed. This is accomplished by providing outstanding service to both internal and external members as defined by living and demonstrating the core values of the credit union; Act with Integrity, Drive Progress, Build & Strengthen Relationships and Keep People at the Core. This role will work with lenders, members, and other departments assuring consistent communications in a professional, timely manner. This position will work closely with other Commercial Lending team members to ensure that all of the commercial lending steps flow effectively and efficiently to maintain a focus on the member.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts commercial transactions per member request. Processes loan payments, resolve payment issues, process wire requests while working with other credit union departments to assist with these member requests.Handles other specific commercial loan servicing tasks which may include: Escrows; Loan payments, pay-offs and collateral releases; Member commercial loan file management; Tracking and re-filing UCC continuations; Periodic verification of Life Insurance Assignments; Generating and providing any necessary secondary market lender-driven reports, such as reports to the SBA or FarmerMac.Conducts post-closing quality control audits/due diligence of commercial loan documentation and keeps records of documentation deficiencies.Establishes and maintains effective communication, coordination, and working relations with other credit union staff and management.Maintains, organizes and audits commercial files which includes but not limited to the following: tracking insurance and contacting other teammates, the member and/or insurance company to secure proper proof of insurance; monitoring for payment of real estate taxes; monitoring for proper flood insurance and changes to underlying flood mapping; monitoring applicable environmental tracking changes.Accountable for understanding commercial loan concepts, policies and procedures and assisting employees and/or members with inquiries regarding commercial loans. Works with the entire commercial lending program team to continuously drive progress for commercial loans and add financial value for our members.Monitors disbursements on construction and development loans.Researches and assists with a variety of projects as needed which may include preparing a variety of records or reports.Assists with maintaining and using a commercial lending tickler system and properly communicates to other teammates on any necessary requirements as ticklers are generated.Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Additionally, all employees must follow policies and procedures to minimize risk by exercising judgment, raising questions to management, and adhering to policy guidelines. RequirementsExperience
Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
Education/Certifications/Licenses
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school equivalent to approximately 64 credit hours.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.
Physical Requirements
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work environment with moderate noise.
