Compensation Range

Hourly: $20.50 - $23.55 (Amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies.)

About This Job

Commercial Loan Servicing (CLS) provides back-office operations support for commercial, business banking, and various specialty lending products.  We work directly with the Sales and Credit teams to remove roadblocks and complete operational tasks that allow Commerce to meet the customer’s commercial lending needs.   CLS operational tasks can include loan document preparation, loan accounting, collateral perfection and monitoring, and legal and regulatory review. 

Successful candidates will be assigned to a specific team and tasks within CLS based on business needs and the candidate’s skill set.

Essential Functions

Complete a preliminary review of loan submissions to ensure regulatory and legal compliance

Prepare loan documents in accordance with Commerce Bank’s credit policy

Interpret complex loan documents to set loans up on the loan accounting system

Post loan transactions and providing account problem resolution

Process complex loan accounting transactions such as syndications and participations

Provide ongoing monitoring and reporting of collateral securing commercial loans

Complete a post-closing review to ensure all documents comply with regulatory requirements and Commerce Bank policy

Collaborate with internal and external business partners to improve service levels

Create or update procedural manuals and job aids as needed

Provide research and resolution to customer concerns/issues

Performing other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Ability to analyze, interpret, and understand commercial loan and/or legal documentation with a high degree of accuracy

Basic knowledge of commercial loan servicing databases and systems, including but not limited to Shaw, ELAR, Credit Stream, LaserPro, CAC, and Appian

Basic knowledge of federal banking regulations, especially those related to commercial lending

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook  

Education & Experience

Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Bachelor’s degree preferred.

1+ years financial services experience required

Commercial lending experience preferred

**This role will be mostly on-site in the office until training has completed; once training has completed, it will be hybrid/flexible: every other week in-office.

A reasonable estimate of the current base hourly range is $20.50 to $23.55.
