The Maintenance Technician must be able to perform the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of the physical structure of buildings. This is an entry-level position and can provide opportunities for growth in the engineering field. You will work with a JLL team that manages the commercial buildings within the Palo Alto client portfolio.

Schedule: On-site, Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM with on-call availability for after-hour emergencies

Reporting to: Assistant Facilities Manager
Type of Employment: Full-Time w/JLL employee benefits within 1 month of employment  

Estimated compensation: $27.60-$33.80/hourly paid bi-weekly

What your day-to-day will look like: 

Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, HVAC and controllers.

Maintain and complete documentation for fire extinguishers, fire suppression systems, building alarm contacts, and other building systems.

Maintain and repair single phase electrical breakers, switches, receptacles, junction boxes, conduit, lights, and ballasts.

Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, water fountains, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps.

Prepare, prime and paint building interior and exterior surfaces.

Perform general Handyman tasks to maintain buildings.

Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas.

Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.

Maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.

Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. 

Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs

Maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School diploma or GED equivalent; Trade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable

Minimum of 1-3+ years of relevant work experience; general building repair & maintenance in the commercial industry

Strong commercial plumbing background is a must

Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) &/or Building Management System (BMS)

Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)

Strong customer service skills 

Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license & reliable transportation

Must provide proof of US Citizenship: Due to federal government regulations pertaining to secured areas on-site, candidates applying for the position must be able to provide proof of US Citizenship. This requirement ensures compliance with legal and security mandates. All applicants must possess a valid form of identification that confirms their US citizenship status.

Must be able to respond and perform emergency repairs or preventative maintenance off hours as directed on nights and weekends

This position requires frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, and working/extending overhead, including:

Lifting a minimum of 80 lbs.

Using ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.

Climbing a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs.

Estimated total compensation ran for this position is:

48,790.00 – 70,300.00 USD per year
