Commercial Manager
  Job Overview We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager, reporting to the Service Delivery Director, who will be a member of the senior management team, act as the key focal point, and to be accountable for all legal and commercial issues on a Total Facilities Management contract for a key client with an annual turnover of c. £15m.The Commercial Manager shall coordinate with other support functions and dedicated contract roles to understand and deliver required commercial solutions and provide day to day commercial management support to the contract teams. This role will also see the Commercial Manager at the forefront of identifying and managing legal, financial and commercial risks and opportunities in collaboration with the contract team. Driving the uptake and creating awareness of commercial best practice and internal governance policies and procedures will also be an integral part of the role. The successful candidate will be a dedicated member of the contract team responsible for the delivery of exceptional Commercial Management support to the contract and provide guidance to the wider team on a multitude of issues ranging from contract performance, variations and damage claims and suply chain matters. The Commercial Manager shall coordinate with other support functions and dedicated contract roles to understand and deliver commercial solutions and provide day to day commercial management support to the contract teams. This role will also see the Commercial Manager at the forefront of identifying and managing legal, financial and commercial risks and opportunities in collaboration with the contract team. Main Duties

Implement and manage a robust Supplier Security Management Process. Act as the key focal point for all commercial issues with the client; achieving successful outcomes to commercial matters whilst engaging in a constructive and collaborative manner Advising contract teams on queries and interpretations regarding contract terms including liabilities, payment mechanisms, KPIs, scope and specification requirements to drive efficiencies and reduce scope creep. Ensures risk & opportunity registers are maintained by account management teams and all items have clear action plans. Supports the management of risks and opportunities identified by the account teams Provides support to account teams on contract variations and change orders ensuring they are executed in accordance with the specific requirements of the contract and compliance with internal policies and procedures. Supports the Service Delivery Director to keep core contract data up-to-date and accurate. Supports the preparation of position papers and commercial reviews for escalations of major issues and risks. Prepares documentation and reviews contract documents to support the submission of variation documentation. Inputs to the development and improvement of internal systems and commercial processes and procedures. Ensure the appropriate governance is followed for all documents requiring sign-off and signature by the appropriate internal stakeholders.   What we are looking for The person will be required to achieve and hold DV Clearance 

Knowledge, skills & experience

Relevant experience of working with facilities management contracts, preferably within public sector contracts; Ideally the candidate will be Degree educated in a commercial / business / surveying discipline and / or relevant professional qualification, such as RICS, CIPS Previous knowledge of reviewing different contract commercial models including Target cost, fixed price, cost reimbursable, etc; A high level of commercial awareness including knowledge of current contract legislation; A working knowledge of standard form contracts, including NEC3 terms and conditions; Experience of negotiating contract variations to successful close out; Communicate effectively at senior management level; Managing complex stakeholders / relationships; Understanding of corporate governance and risk management; Demonstrated leadership experience both in terms of direct management and indirect influence; History of operating in a similar role with a minimum of 3 years' experience Experience of managing significant 3rd parties and categories of spend; Excellent presentational skills- both oral and written;
