This is a full time, exempt position
FUNCTION: Reporting to the Iowa Commercial Manager of Oilseeds and Carb Solutions, the position is accountable for helping develop and implement strategic and annual business plans for the location. As a senior member of the merchandising team, this position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with multiple internal and key external accounts including the handling of trading, logistics, accounting, and other customer related issues. The position requires a high level of strategic thinking, market knowledge and employee development. The position will also assist in overseeing the location risk management in accordance with corporate policy. The position will aid in developing strategies that match with our corporate objectives and executing these strategies utilizing corporate and staff resources as deemed necessary. The position may represent the company on various industry related initiatives as required.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. A master’s degree is considered to be an asset. Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment. Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic grain trade. Proven ability to manage effectively within a team based work environment. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers. Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment
