The Commercial Negotiator's primary duty is to focus almost entirely on the economic enhancement of existing products without compromising quality. To negotiate and improve agreements with vendors across a wide array of products and services. Responsible for sourcing new vendors and eliminating excess cost in our supply chain. To achieve this by identifying targeted opportunities for margin and quality enhancements within our current portfolio of products utilizing existing or alternate suppliers. This position is an integral member of the Marketing and Merchandising team, this role will not primarily be identifying products to offer in the store but on the economic enhancement of existing products while maintaining Buc-ee's product standards and expectations.

The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
Using all available resources to analyze and interpret consumer and sales insights to identify targeted opportunities for economic enhancement.
Research new vendors for products and services by seeking to establish new business relationships. This can be done via cold calls, tradeshows, internet searches, industry intelligence, etc.
Develop specifications to allow solicitation of alternative vendors for products
Quickly, accurately and autonomously aggregate portfolio economics such as cost, retail, margin of the proposed item and compare it to our existing product and other products within the category to determine profitability fit.
Analyze costs of products and component cost structures including costs of terms, logistics, materials and manufacturing margins
Provide internal business management with accurate and pertinent information that enhances and guides effective decision making
Consult with existing Category Managers and Analysts to help identify opportunities for cost reductions, or margin and product quality improvements.
Project management which will include developing project plans, processes, and timelines
Leverage analytical insights to develop actionable items for improvement
Conduct field analysis to make recommendations for improvement
Determine market needs and/or gaps and assist in creating a strategy to capture new growth in the assigned areas

The position requirements include but are not limited to:
BA/BS in Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related discipline
2 + years of data analyst experience, including specific experience working with large scale data and customer segmentation analysis
Strong analytic skills with a high attention to detail
Strong skills in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Solution based analytics and report development
Methods for effectively planning project scope, creating processes and timelines accordingly
Solid communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to obtain and interpret data
Effective presentation of findings, insights and strategic recommendations
